Travel to Lübeck und Travemünde

Getting around

Lübeck is an ideal location for conferences and congresses on the sea and river Trave. Embedded in the metropolitan region of Hamburg, it is easily accessible by all means of transport.

The nearby seaside resort of Travemünde, a district of Lübeck, offers fantastic views of the Baltic Sea from the congress centre or conference hotel. Travemünde is also easy and convenient to reach either directly or from Lübeck by public transport, train, car or boat. Everything is within easy walking distance.

Climate-friendly arrival by train

Start your conference without traffic jams, red lights and stress. For example, travel by ICE from Munich, Nuremberg, Würzburg, Kassel and Hanover to Lübeck without changing trains! Also added recently was the direct IC connection from Cologne, which, in addition to many other connections via Hamburg, for example, ensures a relaxed journey from all over Germany (and internationally).

Lübeck's central train station is only 700 meters from the Holsten Gate and within walking distance of many conference hotels and convention centers.

Lübeck airport

Lübeck Airport 

Lübeck Airport connects the Hamburg metropolitan region with the major cities of Munich. The regional airport also offers flights to /from a selection of European destinations.

Connections to/from the airport:

The connection between Lübeck Central Station and the airport takes just 8 minutes by train. Alternatively, bus number 6 runs hourly between the airport and the central bus station. If your destination is Travemünde, simply change trains at Lübeck Central Station or take bus 30 or 40 directly from the Central Bus Station across the street.

Hamburg International Airport

From Hamburg Airport you can reach Lübeck by public transport (S-Bahn S1 and regional train to Lübeck). The S1 runs every 10 minutes from the airport to Hamburg Central Station, taking just 25 minutes each way. The S-Bahn station "Hamburg Airport" is located directly in front of the terminals and is easily accessible via lifts, escalators and stairs.

Regional trains run every half hour during the day and take less than 50 minutes to Lübeck HBF.
