Welcome to the Lübeck Convention Bureau!
We are the Lübeck & Travemünde Convention Bureau.
We help people who are planning an event – such as a conference, congress or other function – in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck or the seaside resort of Travemünde.
Our service is free of charge and independent.

 

Lübeck is a special city.
It has a rich history, beautiful buildings and is very close to the water. 
There are also many hotels, restaurants and event venues. 
We work with many great partners.
This will make your event in Lübeck a success.

 

 

What we offer
We show you locations (event venues) in Lübeck & Travemünde: for example, conference rooms, congress centres and hotels.
We support you with planning: selecting hotels, service providers and supporting programmes.
We help with travel and accommodation: how to get there, where to stay, how to extend your stay.
We support you with sustainability: organising events in a way that protects the environment and people.
We offer you a central team of contact persons who will accompany you from start to finish.

Lübeck and Travemünde
In Lübeck, you will find old trading streets, ancient churches and a strong economy – this is where tradition and innovation meet. 
Travemünde complements this with maritime flair: beach, sea, ships, water activities. 
You can combine both locations: e.g. a conference in Lübeck and a supporting programme in Travemünde, or use the conference venue directly in the seaside resort.

1. What does accessibility mean?

Accessibility means:
Everyone should be able to use our website easily.
This includes people with disabilities.
For example, people with hearing impairments, visual impairments or learning difficulties.

We are constantly working to improve our website and make it more accessible.

These laws state that:

These include:

  • The Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0 for short).

3. How accessible is our website?

Our website is partially accessible.
Many things already work well.
However, some content is not yet fully accessible.

We want to solve these problems.

 

 

4. Which content is not yet accessible?

Some examples:

  • Some images do not have alternative text.
    Alternative text describes the image for people who cannot see it.
  • Some images have a function but no suitable text for screen reader programmes.
  • Some headings are not technically marked up correctly.
  • Some forms do not have labels.
  • Some text fields do not fill in automatically (autocomplete).
  • The colour contrast on the ‘Contact us’ page is too low in some places.
  • When zooming in very close, you sometimes have to scroll to the side.
  • When using the website with only the keyboard, the order is sometimes illogical.
  • Some videos run in an endless loop.
  • Some technical areas are still missing, for example, so-called ARIA landmarks.
    These help people who use screen readers.

We are working on all of the points mentioned.
Some improvements take a little time.
We can only improve some functions to a limited extent.
But we regularly review what is possible.

Easy language and sign language are mandatory for this website.

We are planning a video in sign language.
