The time of the Hanseatic League is considered one of the most important chapters in German and European history. The museum creates an impressive interplay of room stagings, cabinets with original objects and interactive offers and thus paints a fascinating picture of the history of the Hanseatic League. The modern new museum building with roof terrace, inner courtyard and old church square perfectly sets the scene for the historic castle monastery, which is integrated into the building complex, and blends harmoniously into today's cityscape.
The European Hanseatic Museum offers a wide range of educational activities for school classes and numerous program elements for children and young people.
A comprehensive digital program rounds off the museum's offerings.
Further digital offerings:
- The "Hanseatic Adventure " digital tour links virtual content with the exhibition, creating a new, playful approach to the museum's themes.
- The "Dielenhaus Adventure" app makes an important aspect of the Hanseatic League visible in the style of escape room games: the life and work of Hanseatic merchants in the Middle Ages.
- Explore the rooms of the historic castle monastery in a 3D tour right here in your browser.
